Artist bio:
I moved to the United States from Russia when I was 10 years old, and it wasn't until my senior year of high school that I seriously picked up a pencil and began drawing. In Los Angeles, I was consumed with figure drawing and animal drawing at the Animation Union. After graduating from Burbank High School in 2000, I was immediately hired on by Rich Animation. After spending a year there, I enrolled as a full-time student at Laguna College of Art and Design, where I concentrated on illustration and fine art, and took weekend classes at Art Center in Pasadena.
It was while attending LCAD that I began dabbling with the digital medium. Suddenly, my exploratory mind was able to churn out new ideas faster than I had been able to using traditional mediums. Photoshop and Painter helped me achieve a finished, more polished look, while making me feel more productive as I created more work faster. Both Photoshop, and Painter are great tools, yet I gleaned early on how important it is not to use them as crutch for lack of experience. Upon graduating LCAD, I began working at Spectral Motion as a character concept artist along side Chet Zar and Constantine Sekeris. When my contract ended, I decided to delve into the video game industry, and started working at High Moon Studios where I met many talented artists while working on the Bourne Conspiracy Game After being promoted at HMS, I was subsequently offered a concept art position at Obsidian Entertainment, where I worked on Alpha Protocol as the Lead Environment Artist. I now live in Orange County and work as the Art Director at Interplay Entertainment, and feel privlaged to be working on Fallout Online also known as Project V13.
I also do freelance work here and there to satiate my creative appetite.

Favorite quote:
From the age of six I had a mania for drawing the shapes of things. When I was fifty I had published a universe of designs. but all I have done before the the age of seventy is not worth bothering with. At seventy five I'll have learned something of the pattern of nature, of animals, of plants, of trees, birds, fish and insects. When I am eighty you will see real progress. At ninety I shall have cut my way deeply into the mystery of life itself. At a hundred I shall be a marvelous artist. At a hundred and ten everything I create; a dot, a line, will jump to life as never before. To all of you who are going to live as long as I do, I promise to keep my word. I am writing this in my old age. I used to call myself Hokosai, but today I sign my self 'The Old Man Mad About Drawing.'
